Me, Mark Cuban, and Cameras

I had a little fun yesterday at Dallas Maverick's owner Mark Cuban's expense - heck, he can afford it. Our once affiliated TV station picked up the story and I ended up doing an interview...of which perhaps 4 seconds was used. However it was worth it for two reasons:

1. Maybe I can get Cuban to buy the website I bought from under him, IFellInTheRiverwalk.com.

2. The video of the story (it's very short) certainly proves that I have a face for radio and the adage that the camera adds 10 pounds is most assuredly true.

I just didn't realize they had four or five cameras running...

P.S...Speaking of running...I haven't figured out how to bejigger the javascript on this thing...so it keeps repeating. Hit the stop button. I could spend the day playing with the code or I could do something productive and just tell you to stop it when it becomes annoying. Believe me, you'll know when.

I saw you on TV this morning and you looked fabulous. Like you're getting sleep or had a face lift.

That's absolutely awesome! You need to post that video on YouTube to generate a lot of traffic to the site, and you'll stand a good chance of selling it for a good price :)

Dear Teller,

I think you're mistaking me for Randy Beamer, or maybe Randy Carroll (who somehow gets added to this video-sometimes)....or maybe you're like me and don't wear your glasses at the computer :)

But thanks :)

Gene,

Um...well...I'd post this to YouTube but I kinda sorta "borrowed" it from WOAI TV. I'm sure they wouldn't object to me posting it on my little blog, but putting it on YouTube might violate some copyrights. Plus I accidentally tweaked it somehow while trying to get it to stop replaying, and somehow stopped the advertisements they had embedded from running in the process.

Fixing that is on my "to do" list....:)

Wow, now I can put a real face and personality to this blog. Um, it's ok, I'll still read the blog.

Just teasing a bit. Very cool moment of fame for you. :-)

I happen to be friends with a woman who does the P.R. for the San Antonio River Parade (part of San Antonio's Fiesta celebration) who emailed me this morning saying she'd scrounge up a couple of tickets for the parade if I wanted to offer them to Mr. Cuban. I sent him an email, and he responded rather quickly.

Here's the exchange...

Mr. Cuban,

The P.R. agency for the San Antonio River Parade has told me they're willing to give you two tickets to the parade should you want them. I do not know if they'll be near a railing or not.

Sincerely,
