Maybe It Was Something They Eight

By now you have no doubt realized, read, heard that this is 8/8/8, as in August 8th, 2008. It's supposed to be a lucky day...a happy day. What? That doesn't do it?

Well, perhaps this will lift your spirits. This is also "Galactic Freedom Day!"

Yes, today the people of the world join together (at 8 p.m. "Universal" time) in a mass experiment aimed at retrieving the truth from various governments about the vast numbers of space aliens who visited/invaded/now control our planet.

As for me...I'm just happy it's Friday.

Actually, 08/08/68 has much more significance to me -- which makes 08/08/08 even more special.

I am 40 years old in the Lord today! It's my "spiritual birthday." Yes, folks... I accepted Jesus Christ into my life 40 years ago today at the home of my mother's friend, Chris Williamson, whom I believe led my mother to the Lord.

Yes, I was only 6 years old, but I remember it like it was yesterday. It's one of my clearest and most honest memories from my childhood.

I'd tell the story, but it's a little "woo-ey" for some folks, and I don't want to freak anyone out. I'll be happy to share the story of my salvation experience in a private email... or, since my mother was there and has a different perspective (a helpless mommy trying to "save" her little girl... and save me she did -- literally), AND if she reads this comment, perhaps she'll tell the story. Jesus Christ saved me wholly, completely, and spiritually that day.

I am thankful for my incredible mother who has "rescued" me (in more ways and on more occasions than either of us care to admit) and was the one who led me to the ultimate Rescuer. Can't leave Daddy-O out, though... he has had such an impact on my life -- especially as an adult. My parents are the godliest people I know. Thank you, Lord, for giving them to me.

And thank you, Michael, for pushing me to be the woman, wife and mother God wants me to be. We are more than conquerers, my love, and we shall prevail!!

So... Happy 40th Birthday to me! Thank you, Lord, for giving me a new birth.

Grace & peace to all,
Amy
