Food For Thought

Pardon this for being somewhat raw. I really wanted to see if this would work.

Being the uncooperative little nut job that he is, I think Winston actually ate slower than usual...although his head is bobbing for about 40 seconds, believe me that bowl was empty in half that time...he just keeps licking it hoping for more.

One day I'll do a more professional job of editing.

Michael - I am kind of hoping that it was Winston's BOWL not his BOWEL which emptied in that time - or you had another mess to clean up!!!

Loved how the Grackle announced Winston's dinner was to commence! It's as if King Winston lived during days of yorn...but, then who acts as his court jester?

Great snippet into the Main life.

Janet,

If I could get him to "do his business" in that amount of time, my life would actually be much easier.

I can't count how many times I've put the dogs out and tried to get them "rush" that particular body function because I was running late/it was pouring rain/Winston howled to wake me up obviously wanting something and food, water, and going "potty" are really his primary needs, only to have Winston sit down, stare at me, wag his tail, and give me a look I've long since identified as his way of saying, "I have no idea what you want but hearing you yell is amusing." :)

I'm not certain who is control at our house...but I've at least narrowed me from the candidate list.

And yes, I changed the typo..:)

Janet, I?m glad that there are other readers besides Amy and me who are looking out for typos in the blog.

I guess I may have been too distracted; I was expecting my head phones to be full of dog sounds like the ones made by our pair at feeding time. Instead, I heard Michael?s voice for the first time in over 33 years....

It's becoming a somewhat sad commentary or realization that a large number of my small number of readers are attracted here to find my grammatical and or spelling errors :)

However Harlan your editorial prowess may be unmatched, but your math skills are apparently lacking. Albeit "more than 33 years" is technically correct, but since I left NY in May of 1972 it's certainly "rounding down."

Then again, knowing you, you were likely being kind and not rubbing in the fact that I am rapidly approaching a new grid on the actuarial tables.

Then again, we're both the same age so "denial" should probably not be ruled out as another possible factor. :)

Actually Harlan - most of the time the spelling errors are ignored - but this time it conjured up too much of an image to leave it alone. Surprising what difference a little 'e' can make to the meaning of a word - but it really was quite relevant.

Michael - I read you to keep up on the antics of you and your family - not to be involved in grammatical corrections - had enough of that in my teaching days!

I wish you would give up on this 50 thing - you see next year I meet that milestone, although at the moment and for another 5 months I am still only 48 years old. 50 next year sounds frightening - i wasn't the least bit worried about turning 30 - in fact I figured I was entering my adulthood at long last. Then there was 40 - it was a new era for me, having just got married and all. But 50 - geez that is a hard one. It sounds OLD...
