Press Release O' The Day

I get a lot of news releases, or pseudo-news releases. Many of them are boring, or bad....but this one...well, I don't know, maybe it's because it's 2 a.m. on Monday, but if I didn't know this was from a legitimate source, I'd think it was a gag.

RAYMOND JAMES' CHIEF INVESTMENT STRATEGIST,
JEFFREY SAUT, TO VISIT SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.

St. Petersburg, Fla. - Jeffrey Saut, managing director and chief investment strategist for Raymond James & Associates, a national financial services firm, will be speaking on, "Making Predictions is Always Difficult, Especially about the Future," to guests at an invitation-only dinner at the San Antonio Country Club on Wednesday, February 7, 2007.

It would seem that being a swami who made predictions about "the past" would be an easier gig...

el - dunno if you remember me from a couple of years ago - Janet McKinney with Janet's Journey

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday I had surgery for a gastric lapband. You and Amy encouraged me over the years, and this is where my journey has led to so far. I came home again after 25 hours, in a bit of pain as can be expected, but things are going OK.

Blessings
Janet

Janet,

I certainly remember you and still check your blog (remnants).

Having a great deal of expertise in Gastric bypass and related operations, let me emphasize the need to drink water...all the time. I know so many people who have had this type of surgery and have gone thru many an ordeal with Amy and multiple friends who have had complications, and I can tell you most all began with them being dehydrated.

It's a difficult journey and although it does produce remarkable results, gastric bypass of any form is really only another "tool" to use to reach your goals. If you don't utilize it right it won't work right.

Find a support group...on line or in person or both. It is a life changing event, and I have seen many people find other things besides "food" to comfort themselves and end up in destructive behaviors.

Please write to me or Amy whenever you wish...we will encourage you all along the way and can answer many of your questions I suspect.

In prayer for healing and a "new" you...

Michael

Michael & Amy

Thank you for your response - and your insights. I do very much see this as a tool to help me lose the weight. And yes -there is a support group, both online and in real life in Canberra which I have hooked up with.

My mum suggested I needed to restart the blog - I think she may be right. I certainly have been doing a lot of thinking and exploring lately

Blessings
Janet
