The Best Of Times The End Of Times
It happens every time...someone says, "I think this is an indication the 'end times' are upon us."
Every time there's an earthquake.
Every time there's a hurricane...or two.
Every time there's a tsunami.
Every time there's a human tragedy too big for us to comprehend, it makes us think of other things that are too big to comprehend I think....like God and the end times.
In truth God is too big for us to truly fathom, yet many of us...then again maybe it's only me...have a mental image of God. I suppose that helps us to have relationship with Him.
Some of us picture Jesus with piercing blue eyes and long dirty blonde hair.

Although that seems highly unlikely considering what we know of the world and the times of His earthly ministry, but I see no harm...I see Jesus in many ways.
There's a televangelist in San Antonio who has made a good living selling books, tapes, and other end time tschokes...the times haven't ended though and surprisingly either has his non-profit church status.
There are hate groups that thrive on tragedies such as the recent earthquakes in Asia and hurricanes attracting people of like minds. They have a place to call home. It's not exactly warm and inviting, but I suspect they'll get enough warmth eventually.
So my point in this rambling is that I don't buy into it when someone tells me that this event or that event is a sign of the apocalypse...at least I didn't until now.
Yes, I'm a believer now.
Unless someone can give me a rational explanation for it all.
Oh...not for the hurricanes, tsunami's and earthquakes. No, sorry if I misled you.
I believe the four horsemen are about to cross the horizon for one reason and one reason only.....
The Cincinnati Bengals are in first place in their division.

Let us pray.

Are you always this funny?!? My mind has been preoccupied all day with problems about church, wondering what God might be up to and praying that He's got a plan. I started reading this post, thinking, "This matches my mood..." and then I got to the bottom of it. It felt good to laugh outloud.
Hey! Be careful! You're talking about my home team!...Talking this morning with a busboy in Bob Evans and asked him if they won or lost the game Sunday night. When he frowned nad indicated loss, I asked by how much. When he informed me by three points, I noted that it wasn't all that bad a loss. His reply left me grinning. "It ain't WhoDey," he moaned. "It ain't WhoDey."......They used to tell the story around here of the guy who walked into the bar with his dog, begging to watch the game. His dog was a big fan, he said, and thus convinced the bartender to let him stay. Somehwere during the 3rd quarter the Bengals kicked a field goal and the dog went nuts. Cartwheels. Flips. Howling at the moon. The bartender was impressed and wondered what the dog might do when they scored a touchdown. "Don't know", his owner replied. "I've only had him for five years"..........
Ya. Laughing. As I've noted before, we ain't seen nothin' we ain't seen, just media with more time on its hands and better information. When anyone posits that obviously humankind is heading downhill and we're ready for The End, I wonder about the middle ages, really I do, and what they think about it. And honestly, I can't accept that God is punishing the world for our sins, as mighty as they are, by flooding New Orleans or causing suffering in Pakistan. Although I'm not all that sure that God approves of trailer parks...
I would give a long explanation of my eschatology, but I can't quit laughing!
Thanks Main Man!
I am officially aMMMused. :)
Ant the Yankeeeees didn't win, and the Sea Hawks did win... Two great signs that leaves me wondering what happened?
obviously, a "steelcitygirl" just wouldn't get this at all......
You can tell that Jim and I are big football fans when we need to ask someone what the team from across the Kentucky River did last Sunday.
The only reason they lost this time is because Jim and I took the least bit of interest in them.
