Well Now I'm Famous

The aforementioned article on my Real Live Preacher came out in our local daily newspaper today. The newspaper gets religion one day a week, on Saturday. It's actually a very nice article. My contribution was edited to I think four or five words, which no doubt improved its quality substantially.

It was good to see an article thats primary focus was not on the fact that Reallivepreacher.com occasionally uses "salty" language, although the author did manage to slip it in twice.

Nice article - though I think Christianity Today might be a little surprised to learn about that statistic! ;)

Yeah, me too. I was stunned to know our G doubled the CT circulation. He must have quite a publicist. At least they didn't mention he's got a "gay male friend in LA." And I wanna know what those barnyard people are talkin' about...

Knowing our newspaper and it's strong suit for accuracy, I suspect this will be mentioned on the inside page of the Monday paper under "Corrections" - one of the longest columns in our newspaper by the way - with the disclaimer: "due to reporter error."

I'm sure what Gordon told them was that traffic to the Christian Century website doubled when they started publishing his essays, which is indeed correct.

Our newspaper's two biggest selling points are the Spurs and the fact they publish an abbreviated version of "The Star" on Sundays....no kidding.

Yes, it was an error. He asked about Christian Century, which I do write for. And I double their WEB traffic on days that they post one of my essays. NOT their circulation. So they were wrong on both counts. I was a little embarrased by it, but it was their error and not mine.
